About CareLinkUSA

An independent guide for families who suddenly find themselves arranging care, and for the caregivers who make it work.

Why we exist

Most families start arranging care in a hurry: after a fall, a hospital stay, or a diagnosis. The information they find is scattered, full of jargon, or written to sell a placement. CareLinkUSA brings the essentials together in plain English: what each kind of care is, what it costs, who pays, and how to protect the caregiver along the way.

A special focus on veterans

Veterans and their families have earned benefits that can make a real difference in long-term care, and many never claim them. Our veterans section explains those programs clearly, and how to get free help from VA-accredited representatives.

How we research

  1. Official sources first. Medicare.gov, Medicaid.gov, VA.gov, the Administration for Community Living, the National Institute on Aging, the CDC, the Department of Labor, and the IRS.
  2. We show our work. Every guide lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
  3. We're honest about limits. When rules vary by state or are changing, we say so.
  4. We update. Many benefit amounts change every January, and we review guides when they do.

How we stay independent

We don't take placement or referral fees from care providers, and we don't rank providers. We may offer our own printable products, like the Caregiver Organizer, and any affiliate links will be clearly labeled. See our affiliate disclosure.
